This article is a summary of an interview with the screenwriter of Hurt Locker Mark Boal. This article summarizes the questions Boal was asked during an interview. Also covers why some other Iraq war movies have failed recently while Hurt Locker supposedly flourished.
I will use this article to try and understand where the film went horribly wrong for vets. Per my previous post it seems as if the veteran population did not receive the Hurt Locker well at all even despite Boal's efforts to make it as realistic as possible. This article will be key to making points about how the context of the film contributed to the reception by the general population as well as the reception by the veterans or soldiers.
