Blog any reactions you had to the inquiry 3 presentations. Did any of the texts you heard about sound interesting to you? Were there any you already knew about? What do these texts tell you about the differences or similarities between you and your classmates? What might account for these differences or similarities?
After the initial round of presentations I noticed that a good deal of the texts revolved around religion or just in general preaching good qualities. I saw a lot of texts that had the same qualities in my canon like perseverance or openness. Nick Vujicic was a great story about perseverance!
I was really interested in the Velvet Underground and Nico album. I like expanding my music tastes and I listened to the album about three times when I got home. I have heard of John Green and his books definitely sound very interesting.
My peers chose texts that were probably more personable, as in the experiences in the texts they experienced as well. I happened to choose some texts that described experiences that I never really experienced but still had an effect on my life. I guess we are all similar in that we chose texts that definitely affected our lives. We are different in that I did not really choose any religious texts and I never even considered that religion or spirituality could be a part of my canon. What might account for this difference is that I never really connected with my faith and religion whereas I imagine my classmates must have been more in tune with their spirituality. I looked for texts that defined my likes as a person and what makes me who I am.
